The Nature's Valley Trust, along with our partners, are implementing a greening project in Kurland Village. The aim of this on-going project is to establish a park for the community over time. Over the last 4 years, more than 1200 trees (indigenous and fruit) have been planted in the Village. The Kurland Greening project’s success led to similar greening projects being implemented in two other local communities; Covie and Coldstream. Prior to the three community greenings in 2011, the NVT facilitated a greening workshop (in partnership with DAFF and various local NGO’s) with 70 members of these three communities and 250 school learners to educate them about planting and caring for their trees. The project is an ongoing annual event, and one of our community engagement highlights!
